Home Automation


Turning lights on and off or opening the garage door remotely is not something new. This trend is being following for decades. The concept was raised back in 1934 in Chicago, titled as ‘Home of Future’. Since then a lot of advancement has been seen in home automation industry. However, the home automation industry is too much changed. It is now more than turning the things on and off. Involvement of internet, controllers, sensors and smart phones has enable options to monitor your home as well as control your home from any part of the world. Basically, our homes are not just simple homes anymore; they are now transformed into modern smart homes. Smart homes are not just accessible from any part of world but nowadays it can also think and perform tasks for us as well.
Smart home is one of the major applications of Internet of Things. It is the IoT that has turned home into smart home. Imagine controlling your all home appliances by sitting back on couch; dimming the lights, controlling the room temperature or monitoring your home via Smartphone’s or Laptop. How comfortable life would be if your home is smart home. The technology is very helpful for old age community and medical patients.
Why to waste energy for turning the light on or off if it can be automated lying on your bed? Why to get worried if your home can be monitored and operated if you are not at home or out of station? Why not do something productive if you can save time and energy? Hence, smart home will be the answer of each why just mentioned earlier. Daily advancement in technology is making human life convenient and manageable. Since, the smart technology has too much impact on a common man’s life, let’s see how smart home will affect the life of common people in the near future.
